Cointelegraph's website front-end was hacked, displaying fraudulent pop-ups promoting a fake token airdrop. The attackers lured users to connect wallets under the guise of a "fair launch initiative," falsely promising $5,500 in tokens and claiming CertiK audit approval. The breach mirrors a similar exploit on CoinMarketCap days earlier.

Security remains a critical vulnerability in crypto media platforms, as hackers increasingly target high-traffic sites to harvest wallet credentials. Cointelegraph has warned users against interacting with the pop-ups while working to resolve the issue.
